Cuplido ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Cuplido mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal data when you use our Service, and your rights in relation to that data.

1. Data controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Cuplido. For any privacy-related inquiries, please reach out through our contact form.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account information: name, email address, and profile photo URL as provided by Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
• Profile data: age group, gender, language preference, and optionally your country and city (you can choose not to share location during onboarding)
• Relationship data: couple pairing, activity session history (duration, rating, feedback, feeling tags), gamification progress (XP, level, streaks, achievements)
• Device information: operating system (iOS or Android) and push notification token, stored to deliver notifications. We do not collect device model, advertising identifiers, or hardware specifications.
• Subscription data: subscription status, product identifier, and platform. Payment details are processed entirely by Apple or Google and are never stored by us.
• Photos: only when you voluntarily capture or select them during an activity session. Photos are uploaded directly to cloud storage and are not analyzed or processed beyond storage.
• Error reports: when the app encounters an error, diagnostic data (stack traces, error codes) may be sent to our error tracking service. Personal information is stripped before transmission.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6:

• Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for (account management, activity recommendations, couple pairing)
• Legitimate interest: analytics to improve the Service, security measures, and fraud prevention
• Consent: marketing communications and optional data collection (you may withdraw consent at any time)
• Legal obligation: where we are required to process data to comply with applicable laws

4. How we use your information

• Provide and personalize activity recommendations
• Manage your account and couple pairing
• Process subscriptions and entitlements
• Send push notifications (with your permission)
• Improve our Service and develop new features
• Ensure the security of our platform
• Communicate with you about your account and updates

5. Information sharing

We never sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• With your paired partner: activity completion status and shared session data as part of the couple experience
• Service providers: RevenueCat (subscription management) and Sentry (error tracking). Google Analytics is used on our website only, and only when you accept analytics cookies via our cookie settings.
• Legal requirements: to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• Safety: to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public

6. International data transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States (where some of our service providers are located). Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication via OAuth providers, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention periods:

• Account data: retained until you delete your account
• Activity and session data: retained for the lifetime of your account
• Analytics data: aggregated and anonymized, retained for up to 26 months
• Legal compliance data: retained as required by applicable law

After account deletion, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Your rights

Under GDPR and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure: request deletion of your account and personal data
• Restriction: request that we limit how we process your data
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

If you believe your rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

10. Children's privacy

Cuplido is designed for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website, updating the "Last updated" date, and where possible, through in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
